Clean Max witnesses “tremendous growth” in demand for renewable power from corporates, says MD Kuldeep Jain

Backed by “tremendous growth” in demands for solar and wind power from corporates, green energy supplier Clean Max Enviro Energy Solutions is confident of commissioning at least 1500 MW of capacity this fiscal.

The Mumbai-based company, which has operational capacity in Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, and Tamil Nadu, among other States, added 1400 MW of new capacity last fiscal.

“We are confident that we will add and commission at least 1500 MW of capacity in the current financial year,” said Clean Max MD Kuldeep Jain.

“Our demand is driven by the corporate segment, because 100 per cent of our businesses are with corporates. These corporates are saving more than 30 per cent on their cost as they are going green. So for them carbon footprint came down, and ESG scores improved. The greener power is cheaper. So we are seeing tremendous growth. It is not necessarily linked to the war, because if it’s cheaper and greener, anyway people are adopting it,” Jain told businessline.

On the company’s partnership with Apple for the development of renewable energy projects in India, Jain said there will be as many as three projects under the joint-venture partnership. “Apple is investing equity in excess of Rs 100 crore for a 49 per cent stake in the joint venture. It will be our subsidiary as we own 51 per cent. The renewable energy projects will be solar and wind power projects to supply to corporates.”

He said the company already has a couple of other such joint-ventures. One is with Toyota Tsusho India (TTIPL), and the other is with Osaka Gas Co., a prominent Japanese gas major. TTIPL is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Toyota Tsusho Corporation Japan, a member of the Toyota Group.

Asked about the benefits of such joint-ventures for putting up renewable energy projects, the company said it is an equity efficient model.

“It is about investment efficiency, because it’s obviously a high growth capital intensive business. These joint ventures also bring other capabilities, including customer relationships and lender relationships to bear,” the MD said.

For Clean Max Enviro Energy Solutions, India’s largest renewable energy provider for the Commercial & Industrial (C&I) segment, the contracted RE Power Sales portfolio reached around 5.7 GW as of March 31, 2026. Operational RE Power Sales capacity grew nearly 80 per cent year-on-year to around 3.1 GW by FY26-end, from around 1.7 GW a year earlier. Contracted yet-to-be-executed RE Power Sales capacity stood at around 2.6 GW as of March 31, 2026.
