The Delhi government has recently announced the Delhi Lakshmi Yojana to provide financial support to women. Under the scheme, eligible women will receive ₹2,500 every month directly in their bank accounts.
The application process for the scheme began on August 1, 2026. The portal has already recorded 4.87 lakh registrations and 1.99 lakh submitted applications by 8 p.m. on Friday, the official said. Registrations surged overnight and during the early hours of Saturday, taking the total beyond five lakh by the afternoon.
So, if you are eligible and want to apply for the scheme, you should do it at the earliest. However, before applying, check the eligibility criteria, required documents and other conditions of the scheme.
Who is eligible?
- According to the scheme guidelines, women aged between 21 and 60, whose annual family income is up to ₹2.5 lakh, are eligible to apply.
- Women already receiving benefits under any other financial assistance scheme or pension, taxpayers, government employees, women with more than three living children, and families with annual electricity consumption exceeding 2,400 units are not eligible.
- Also, the family should not own a car.
- Families with any member in a government job will be excluded from the scheme.
- A woman having criminal antecedents or a criminal record will not be eligible for the benefit.
What documents are needed for the application?
If you want to apply for this scheme, keep these documents handy:
- Aadhaar card
- Identity proof
- Bank account details
- Bank account linked to Aadhaar
- Proof of residence in Delhi
- Passport-size photograph
- Signature
MLA or MP recommendation required
The applicant must secure the recommendation of the MP or the MLA of her constituency to apply for the scheme.
How to apply online?
- To apply, first visit the official Delhi Lakshmi Yojana portal.
- Next, click on the Citizen Login option.
- Then go to Register Now.
- Enter your Aadhaar number and date of birth.
- Once the registration is complete, create your ID and password.
- Then log in to the portal.
- Enter your personal, family and bank-related details in the application form.
- Upload all the required documents.
- Also, upload the MLA/MP letter.
- Finally, check all the information carefully and submit the form.
Know this important rule
Only one woman from each family will be eligible to receive benefits under the scheme. Also, if two women are there, the elder one is eligible to apply. For example, if one woman in your family is 40 years old and another woman is 35, only the older woman will receive the benefit under the scheme.
