Gold prices on Friday rose ₹1,272 to ₹1.50 lakh per 10 grams in futures trade as speculators created fresh positions on a firm spot demand.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, the yellow metal contracts for October delivery traded higher by ₹1,272, or 0.85 per cent, at ₹1,50,130 per 10 grams in a business turnover of 1,283 lots.
Fresh positions built up by participants led to a rise in precious metal prices, analysts said.
Globally, gold futures rose 1.13 per cent to $4,287.50 per ounce in New York.
