Vietnam-based mobility company Green SM has entered the Indian market, seeking to address the gap in the premium electric ride-hailing segment in the Delhi-NCR region.
The company’s entry follows the exit of BlueSmart from the market, which had largely catered to customers seeking app-based premium electric mobility services.
Besides, the launch comes as India witnesses increasing adoption of electric mobility solutions amid policy support for cleaner transportation.
Speaking to businessline, Manoj Ravikanti, COO, Green SM India, said that the company has identified this niche requirement for a premium mobility offering in a market like Delhi-NCR.
“Our target is to fill in that services gap and that is where Green SM intends to position itself,” he said.
“There is a significant potential for a premium electric ride-hailing service built around a hassle-free experience.”
According to industry estimates, Delhi-NCR alone has the potential to support a fleet of up to 10,000 premium electric ride-hailing vehicles, driven by rising consumer preference for premium point-to-point transport services.
On Thursday (June 5, 2026), the company formally entered the Indian market with the launch of its premium electric ride-hailing service, Green SM Limo, in the Delhi-NCR region.
Accordingly, India becomes the company’s fifth international market after Vietnam, Laos, Indonesia and the Philippines.
In the initial phase, Green SM Limo will operate across key areas of Delhi-NCR, with plans to gradually expand service coverage in line with customer demand.
The service will utilise the VinFast Limo Green, a seven-seater fully electric sport utility vehicle developed specifically for passenger transportation services.
As per the company, the vehicles are equipped with safety features including interior and exterior cameras, artificial intelligence-enabled monitoring systems and emergency assistance functions for both drivers and passengers.
In addition, customers will be able to book rides through the Green SM mobile application, telephone bookings or by hailing vehicles directly in operating zones.
At the launch event in New Delhi, Green SM Global Chief Executive Officer Nguyen Van Thanh described India as one of the most important mobility markets globally.
“India is one of the most important mobility markets in the world. Its scale, rapid growth and strong spirit of innovation are opening up many opportunities for the future of green transportation,” he said.
He added that Green SM’s entry into India forms part of the company’s broader international expansion strategy as it seeks to replicate its electric mobility model across key global markets.
Founded in 2023, Green SM currently operates a fully electric mobility ecosystem across five countries and provides ride-hailing services using electric vehicle fleets and professionally trained drivers.
