Groww accounts for 48% of NSE’s net active client additions in Q2 FY27

Brokerage platform Groww added 1,01,000 active clients in September, accounting for nearly 63 per cent of the broking industry’s net additions of around 161,000 during the month, according to data.

The company’s active client base rose to 13.448 million from 13.347 million in August, while its market share increased to 29.16 per cent from 29.04 per cent.

Among other large brokers, Angel One added 37,000 active clients in September, taking its base to 6.76 million, while Zerodha declined marginally by 5,000 clients to 6.79 million. Their market shares stood at 14.65 per cent and 14.73 per cent, respectively.

Aaritya Broking Private Ltd (Sahi) added 28,077 active clients, taking its active client base from 252,951 to 281,028. Dhan added 14,000 active clients to reach 1.12 million, while ICICI Securities added 5,000 clients to reach 2.16 million.

HDFC Securities and added around 3,000 clients each, taking their active client bases to 1.35 million and 0.91 million, respectively.

Upstox declined by around 11,000 active clients during the month, taking its base to 1.85 million. Kotak Securities remained largely stable at 1.39 million active clients.



SBI Securities reported the sharpest decline among the larger brokers, losing around 23,000 active clients and taking its base to 1.02 million.

Q3 CY2026 additions

During Q3 CY2026, covering July to September, NSE’s active client base increased by around 673,000, from 45.45 million to 46.12 million.

Groww added 324,000 active clients during the quarter, accounting for 48 per cent of the industry’s net additions. The September numbers showed continued concentration of active clients among leading digital brokers, with Groww maintaining its position as the largest platform and increasing its market share to 29.16 per cent.
