HDFC Bank shares fall 1.38%: Bond redemption, ESG rating in focus

shares were in focus on Wednesday amid a slew of updates. The stock traded at ₹702 on the NSE, down 1.38 per cent at 10.42 am. During the session, it moderated between ₹700 and ₹705.65, compared with the previous close of ₹711.90.

In the previous trading session, the stock declined to a 52-week low of ₹698.50.

The traded volume stood at 152.15 lakh, while traded value was ₹1,068.62 crore. The total market capitalisation stood at ₹10.82 lakh crore, with an adjusted P/E ratio of 13.69.

Bond redemption

In a stock exchange filing on Tuesday, HDFC Bank said it will exercise the call option to redeem ₹739 crore of Additional Tier 1 bonds on September 30.



HDFC Bank was also reportedly seeing 24.6 lakh shares change hands in a block deal.

ESG rating

In another stock exchange filing, HDFC Bank said SES ESG Research Private Limited assigned an ESG rating of 74.4 to the bank on August 30, 2026, which was intimated to the bank on August 31, 2026.

The bank clarified that it had not engaged SES ESG Research Private Limited for any such rating or report and that the rating was independently prepared based on information available in the public domain.
