Himadri Speciality charts expansion plans for two fiscal years

has announced a strategic roadmap and work on three pillars to more than double its profitability by FY28.

The company expects to cash in on the investments made in the last few years by catapulting its revenue and profitability, said the company in its annual report.

“Growth at Himadri continues to be shaped by purposeful innovation, with R&D embedded at the core of strategy, business model and culture. This integrated approach is driving steady progress across strategic pillars,” said Anurag Choudhary, Chairman and CEO, Himadri Speciality Chemicals.

In FY’27, the company intends to achieve a full year of operations of the capacity expansion in Speciality carbon black. Himadri also intends to ramp up the capacity of Birla Tyres and enter the high margin off highway tyres (OHT) and commercial vehicle segment.

In its core chemicals business, Himadri Speciality Chemicals is planning forward integration to produce anthraquinone and carbazone, which it expects to be completed by the second quarter of this financial year.

“The commencement of our upcoming anthraquinone and carbazole facility is on track in the coming quarters and will meaningfully reduce India’s dependence on imports across dyes and pigments. The company has decided to remain firmly focused on disciplined capital allocation to drive sustainable returns and maintain a robust ROCE profile,” Choudhary added.

The company expects the first phase of the commercial plant for LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) cathode active material to be operational by the third quarter of FY27 and has also drawn out aggressive plans to ramp up its Durofresh brand of naphthalene balls.

In FY’28, Himadri expects a full year of operations for its enhanced capacity carbon black plant and the two speciality chemicals, besides entering the passenger car radials segment, including tyres for the booming EV and SUV category with Birla Tyres.

The company also expects higher revenues to flow in from the LFP cathode active material plant and full operations to be achieved for the naphthalene balls business, it added.
