Maxivision Eye Hospitals charts aggressive Gujarat expansion; to invest ₹150 cr in 2 yrs

Eye care chain Maxivision Super Speciality Eye Hospitals, headquartered in Hyderabad, is ramping up its footprint in with a planned investment of ₹150 crore, as it looks to double its network in the state over the next two years.

Led by Founder Chairman and Managing Director Dr GSK Velu, the company currently operates 10 hospitals in Gujarat, with a presence across key cities. Its network includes four hospitals in Rajkot, two in Surat and two in Ahmedabad, along with one facility each in Morbi and Jamnagar. “In Gujarat, we started with Rajkot and have since expanded to Morbi, Jamnagar and Surat. We are now evaluating new locations such as Vapi and Vadodara,” Velu said.

As part of its expansion strategy, Maxivision on Friday announced a partnership with Ahmedabad-based SRG Eye Hospital. The collaboration is expected to strengthen its presence in the city, where the company plans to add five more hospitals. “In Ahmedabad itself, we will be adding five more hospitals. We are investing in advanced technology and focusing on scaling operations,” Velu said.

The company aims to scale up its Gujarat network from the current 10 hospitals to 20 facilities over the next two years, driven by a mix of greenfield expansions and partnerships. Maxivision follows a doctor-partnership model and currently has around 20 such collaborations across Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Maharashtra and Gujarat. It is also planning to enter new markets including Karnataka, Goa, Madhya Pradesh and Odisha within the year.

The Gujarat expansion aligns with the company’s broader strategy to strengthen its presence in high-growth regional markets while leveraging partnerships with local healthcare providers.
