Ola Electric, Ather Energy shares rally upto 9%, what is driving EV stocks today?

Shares of Ola Electric and Ather Energy witnessed strong buying interest on Thursday, with both electric two-wheeler stocks gaining during the session. Ola Electric shares rallied 8.5 per cent to an intraday high of ₹40.51, while Ather Energy shares surged a little over 4 per cent to ₹1,648.60.

Ola Electric shares gained momentum as investors gathered pace after a three-session decline in the stock. The shares rose from the previous close of ₹37.31, which was also the opening price and the day’s low on Thursday.

Today, the stock has moved closer to the high of ₹41.12 recorded on August 31, 2026.

The traded volume of Ola Electric shares stood at 1,316.11 lakh at the time of writing, with traded value at ₹519.60 crore.



For a week, the stock’s absolute returns were up 6.35 per cent, while the stock gained 1.40 per cent over the month. YTD, it was up 6.21 per cent.

Ola Electric’s total market capitalisation stood at ₹18,416.44 crore.

The total traded volume stood at 52.23 lakh shares, while traded value was ₹852.88 crore. The company’s market capitalisation stood at ₹64,767.89 crore.

The stock recently scaled a 52-week high of ₹1,744 on September 1, 2026.

Over the week, Ather Energy’s absolute returns stood at 0.21 per cent. For the month, the stock rose 12.02 per cent, while YTD, it jumped 122.40 per cent.

Ather Energy shares were also in focus after global brokerage Nomura raised its target price for the electric two-wheeler manufacturer while maintaining its bullish stance on the stock.

Nomura retained its buy rating at an increased the target price to ₹1,926 per share from ₹1,714 earlier. The brokerage has valued the company at 5.5x FY29F EV/sales.

Nomura said the upcoming Konarc launch could open another growth leg, while EV adoption is running faster than earlier expectations. It expects electric two-wheeler penetration to reach 22 per cent by FY30.

The brokerage said the story is increasingly becoming a category-growth and market-share story rather than just an EV adoption bet.

Nomura highlighted Konarc launch execution, market-share gains and whether higher volumes translate into improving unit economics as key areas to watch.
