Tata Motors launches new Tiago starting at ₹4.69 lakh

Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles on Thursday launched the all-new Tiago, its entry-level hatchback with price starting at ₹4.69 lakh for the petrol version, ₹5.79 lakh for the iCNG and ₹6.99 lakh for the electric version.

The company has launched the latest version after a gap of 10 years since its first launch. While the petrol variant is priced between ₹4.69 lakh and ₹7.29 lakh, the iCNG is priced between ₹5.79 and ₹7.99 lakh (all prices are introductory, ex-showroom).

The Tiago.ev is priced between ₹6.99 lakh and ₹9.99 lakh, and will also be available with a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) option, starting at ₹4.69 lakh (with battery EMI of ₹2.6 per km).

“This is not just a pricing question, it is about what electric mobility should mean for India. The next-gen Tiago.ev is not merely a car purchase, it is the most financially intelligent mobility decision today. First, a lifetime battery warranty that permanently addresses concerns around degradationt and resale. Second, significantly faster charging – 100 km top-up in just 18 minutes, removes a key barrier to adoption. And third, it fundamentally changes the economics of ownership,” Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles, said here at the launch.

With significantly lower running cost, the car effectively pays for itself by the fourth or fifth year, and from that point on, the car starts paying back the customer.

“This is a shift in how India will view mobility, not as an expense, but as a financial asset,” Chandra added.
