Board members of Sir Dorabji Tata Trust (SDTT) met in Mumbai on Friday to review ongoing projects. However, there was no discussion on the issue related to replacement of Tata Sons chairman N Chandrasekaran who has opted against a third term starting February 2027.

Last month, Chandrasekaran popularly known as Chandra announced he will not seek another term.  Subsequently the Tata Trusts said it would take steps to form a selection committee to choose the next Chairman as soon as possible. However, the formation of the committee has not moved forward because of a regulatory ban on Sir Ratan Tata Trust (SRTT).

SDTT and SRTT are the key trusts controlling Tata Sons, the group holding company of salt to software conglomerate.

A person aware of the proceedings said there was discussion on projects related to water conservation and education in trust meeting on Friday. Officials made presentations too. However, there was no discussion regarding search committee or ongoing probe by Charity Commissioner of Maharashtra. SDTT is also supporting some of the projects undertaken by the SRTT.

Jehangir H.C. Jehangir (who is board member of SRTT) attended the SDTT meeting as a special invitee, it is learnt.
