Tata Consultancy Services on Thursday launched its Custom System-on-Chip (SoC) Design Services for automotive original equipment manufacturers and semiconductor ecosystem players.

The end-to-end semiconductor engineering service is designed to help auto manufacturers conceive, design, verify, implement, and validate custom SoC solutions for the next generation of software-defined vehicles (SDVs), Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) said in a statement.

The custom SoCs will enable automakers to align compute capabilities with software requirements, enhance performance-per-watt, and differentiate user experiences and vehicle applications.

“The concept of AI-SDV-driven mobility will be differentiated by the computing architecture on which it runs. The underlying SoC will play as important a role as world-class engineering in shaping the experiences that customers value and the vehicles they choose to buy.

“TCS brings together semiconductor engineering, embedded software, and systems expertise to help automakers translate their silicon strategies into differentiated mobility platforms,” said Sreenivasa Chakravarti, Global Head and Vice President of Industrial Autonomy and Engineering, TCS.

TCS said the custom design services bring together semiconductor engineering, VLSI (Very Large-Scale Integration) design, hardware-software co-design, and system validation capabilities.

The comprehensive set of services covers every stage of silicon development, including architecture, design, implementation, software integration, and system validation.
