German car maker Volkswagen
must improve the efficiency ‌of its premium brands,
including finding ways to optimise Audi’s Neckarsulm plant,
Gernot Dollner, Audi CEO, ‌told Reuters on Monday.

“There no more ‌new models ‌allocated after 2034 and now
we have the task together with the works council to ‌find
measures to optimise the factory,” Dollner said in Paris on the
sidelines ‌of the launch event for Audi’s new compact EV A2
e-tron.

He added there is no question ‌mark on the future of the Gyor
plant, which is one of the biggest components facilities of ‌the
Volkswagen group.

Volkswagen’s supervisory board unanimously approved a
comprehensive “Future Plan” last week that will include cutting
another 50,000 jobs to make the ‌group more competitive.
