Brigade Enterprises Limited on Tuesday announced the opening of PVR INOX Cinemas at Arcadia, its retail destination within Brigade Cornerstone Utopia, a mixed-use township on Whitefield-Sarjapur Road (Varthur Road) in Bengaluru. Shares of the Bengaluru-headquartered developer closed at ₹645.10 on the NSE, down 2.20 per cent from the previous close of ₹655.85, against a market capitalisation of approximately ₹20,926 crore.
The multiplex spans roughly 42,000 sq. ft. across two floors and houses six auditoriums with a combined seating capacity of 949. The facility includes celebrity recliners and lounger seats, and introduces PVR INOX’s new food court concept, integrating dining and hospitality into the cinema-going experience.
Sunil Munshi, COO – Retail at Brigade Group, described the opening as the company’s fourth multiplex in Bengaluru, noting that the property aims to position itself as a community lifestyle destination rather than a conventional retail or entertainment venue.
The cinema sits within Arcadia, Brigade Cornerstone Utopia’s retail zone, which covers approximately 2.5 lakh sq. ft. of leasable area. Existing tenants include Third Wave Coffee, Chaayos, Theobroma, McDonald’s, Burger King, GigaEats Food Court, Bhartiya Jalpan, and Si Nonna’s.
Brigade Group, established in 1986 and listed on exchanges since December 2007, operates across residential, office, retail, hospitality and education segments. The company has developments in Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mysuru, Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram and GIFT City.
On the bourses, Brigade’s stock has underperformed its benchmark over the near term, declining 7.77 per cent over the past year against a 1.31 per cent gain in the NIFTY Realty index. However, the stock’s five-year absolute return stands at 137.72 per cent, outpacing the index’s 118.27 per cent over the same period. The stock trades at a trailing price-to-earnings ratio of 27.30.
