Thanjavur-based SASTRA Deemed University and Hyderabad-based Tata Advanced systems signed an MoU to promote capacity building, research, training & other formal modes of engagement between the two organisations.
The MoU was signed as part of SASTRA’s 25th University Day celebrations in which the Executive Director of TASL Masood Hussainy was a guest of honour, says a release.
Hussainy committed for a long term relationship with SASTRA and appreciated the university for its continuous growth and capacity building activities.
The Commissioner of Income Tax, J. Premanad, was also a Guest of Honour, urged students to address societal challenges and use their creative problem solving skills for solutions.
The vice-chancellor S Vaidhyasubramaniam said in the academic year 2025-26, research & consultancy projects worth ₹120 crores were received, over 1,200 papers were published in reputed journals, and over 3,900 job offers made by 247 corporate recruiters.
Infrastructure addition worth ₹160 crores, social outreach projects worth ₹6 crore, are some of the other notable achievements, the release said.
