Hero Motors setting up ₹750 crore Global Parts Centre in Madanapalem, Andhra Pradesh

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will lay foundation for Global Parts Centre (GPC) of Hero Motors at Madanapalem in Satyavedu Mandal of Tirupati district on July 1.

The facility, to be built with an investment of ₹750 crore by Hero Motor Corporation, is expected to generate employment for nearly 4,000 people.

Hero Motors already operates a two-wheeler manufacturing plant near Sri City, with an annual production capacity of 1.5 million vehicles. The new GPC will manufacture components for motorcycles, scooters and electric vehicles used in both domestic and international markets.

Student scholarship

As part of its participation in the P4 initiative Hero Motors decided to provide scholarships to deserving students. The Chief Minister will launch the “Heroes of Tomorrow” scholarship programme, instituted in the name of BrijMohan Lall Munjal through the Swarna Andhra Foundation.

Naidu will also hand over specially designed electric mobility vehicles, manufactured by Hero Motors, for use by the Andhra Pradesh Police.

The Chief Minister will also participate in the “Pedala Sevalo” programme at Punnapuvaaripalem village in Chillakur Mandal of Nellore district, where he will distribute NTR Bharosa pensions, according to a release.
